KEY PROSODIC FEATURES

• The tempo is fast but relaxed

• Tapped/clipped and aspirate rhythm of consonants

• Operative words are energized by a skipping quality and through increased pitch range

• Pitch range also increases with heightened emotion

• Melody of speech rises through thought, lifting on stressed words, and dripping at the end of the thought (think: over the top of the phrase and down).

• Rising intonation when listing. 

• Pitch rise on stressed words.
